Ground Rise is a small, independent team. We don’t have a glossy founder story or a celebrity doctor on staff — and we’d rather tell you exactly how we work than pretend otherwise.
How we research
Every protocol and guide on this site is compiled from published, peer-reviewed scientific literature. Our primary sources are PubMed-indexed studies, NIH/NCCIH monographs, and journals such as the Journal of Ethnopharmacology. When we cite a study, we link to the primary source so you can read it yourself.
- We prioritize randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews over anecdote.
- We state evidence levels honestly — when the research is thin, we say so.
- We include dosages, durations, and participant counts (n=) from the actual studies.
- We list drug interactions and contraindications prominently, not in fine print.
What our content is — and is not
Everything we publish is an educational recommendation: a synthesis of what the published literature says about Uncaria tomentosa and the practices that complement it. It is not medical advice, and it does not replace a conversation with your doctor — especially if you take medication or live with a chronic condition.
Updates and corrections
Each article shows its publication and last-reviewed dates. We review protocol pages periodically as new research is published. If you find an error — a misquoted study, an outdated dosage, a broken source link — write to us and we will review and correct it.
Commercial transparency
Ground Rise sells a Cat’s Claw extract. That is how we sustain this work, and we don’t hide it. Our guides cover the plant and the evidence in general — they apply to any quality Uncaria tomentosa product, not only ours. The science doesn’t change based on what’s in your cart.
